چکیده

Non-homogeneous Poisson processes are used in a wide range of scientific disciplines, ranging from the environmental sciences to health sciences. Often, central object interest point process is underlying intensity function. Here, we present general model for function non-homogeneous using measure transport. The built flexible bijective mapping that maps simpler reference We enforce bijectivity by modeling map as composition multiple have increasing triangular structure, and show exhibits an important approximation property. Estimation accomplished within optimization framework, wherein computations efficiently done tools originally designed facilitate deep learning, graphics processing unit. Point simulation uncertainty quantification straightforward do with proposed model. demonstrate potential benefits our method over conventional approaches through various studies. also illustrate use on real data set containing locations seismic events near Fiji since 1964.

Poisson Intensity Estimation Using Wavelets and the

This article introduces a new method for the estimation of the intensity of an inhomogeneous one-dimensional Poisson process. The Fisz transformation transforms a vector of binned Poisson counts to approximate normality. Theory shows that, asymptotically, the transformed vector is normal and the elements uncorrelated. Hence we can use wavelet shrinkage with a global threshold to estimate the Po...

Stein estimation of the intensity of a spatial homogeneous Poisson point process

In this paper, we revisit the original ideas of Stein and propose an estimator of the intensity parameter of a homogeneous Poisson point process defined on Rd and observed on a bounded window. The procedure is based on a new integration by parts formula for Poisson point processes. We show that our Stein estimator outperforms the maximum likelihood estimator in terms of mean squared error. In m...

Reliability Analysis of a Software with Non Homogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP) Failure Intensity

This paper deals with the reliability prediction of a large and complex software system consisting of a number of modules in which each module has a different failure pattern. A Non-Homogeneous Poisson Process (NHPP) arising from the superposition of power law processes (S-PLPs) is proposed for determining the failure intensity of the software system. A graphical method is illustrated for estim...

Fuzzy Random Homogeneous Poisson Process and Compound Poisson Process

By dealing with interarrival times as exponentially distributed fuzzy random variables, a fuzzy random homogeneous Poisson process and a fuzzy random compound Poisson process are respectively defined. Several theorems on the two processes are provided, respectively.

Percolation on a non-homogeneous Poisson blob process

One of the most well known examples of phenomena that introduces and motivates the study of continuum percolation is the process of the ground getting wet during a period of rain. At each point hit by a raindrop, one sees a circular wet patch. Right after the rain begins to fall what one sees is a small wet region inside a large dry region. At some instant, so many raindrops have hit the ground...
